We kind of have to face it, without women, professional wrestling would just be sweaty, musclebound dudes in tight costumes pretending to wail on each other and performing acrobatic stunts. There would still be the athleticism and some of the story lines, but at the same time, wrestling would lack an element of sex appeal for the majority of the audience. The popularity of women in wrestling, and especially the Divas in WWE have gone through the roof in recent years and we can see why.
Sable is a former WWE Diva that forever changed the role of women in the wrestling world. She married Wayne Richardson in and they had a child, Mariah, together. Wayne was killed in an automobile accident in From toshe was married to former wrestler Mark Mero.
For several years, wrestling fans were accustomed to seeing a WWE Diva on the cover of Playboy as part of the events leading to WrestleMania. WWE has a checkered history when it comes to its female division. Right now it is probably in the best place it has ever been, with the women being given the opportunity to main event pay-per-views for the first time. WWE hasn't always had this reputation when it came to the female wrestlers, though.
Apart from many other components, the superstars of the squared circle pride themselves on looking good both in and out of the ring. Glorious costumes, expensive cars and fancy haircuts are the norm for some of the best looking men in professional wrestling, while others brag about their riches with charisma and charm. In most cases, heels project themselves as the biggest playboys, flaunting their money in the faces of their adversaries and the onlookers. Other wrestlers, who are actually loved by their peers, get by with being cute youngsters and kill with kindness.
